Use AI features

You can use artificial intelligence (AI) to save time and reduce workload.

Key features:

AI doesn't always get things right, and it is your responsibility to review output for accuracy and appropriateness.

AI marking

We have experimental support for AI marking.

Please note that this attracts premium pricing.

This feature is available when:

Questions taller than 4344 pixels cannot currently be AI marked.

In ideal conditions, such as multiple-choice questions, we have found AI marking has an accuracy of about 99%. For complex questions or unclear scans, this may be lower. You should not use AI marking for high-stakes tests. Always follow your school's policies.

As this is still experimental, most schools will not see the AI auto-marking button by default. To access the feature, add /AI to the end of the URL on the marking page.

AI credits

Using AI to automatically mark student work consumes credits. This is necessary due to the underlying model costs.

Your subscription includes 2,000 AI credits as a starting point, shared between all teachers. To purchase more, please email us to request an invoice. The current rate is £50 for 10,000 – a great investment in reducing workload. Credits are non-refundable.

The marking of each answer costs between 1 and 4 credits, depending on question height. Questions up to 1086 pixels high cost 1 credit per answer. Each additional 1086 pixels, or part of that band, adds 1 extra credit, up to a maximum supported height of 4344 pixels and a maximum of 4 credits per answer.

For example, auto-marking a 10-question test for 20 students would consume 200 credits if every question fits within the first height band. Please note that credits are consumed even if the AI output is inaccurate.
